Pull up a stool at the central bar or by the fireplace, or join in the buzz of the dining room, there’s drinking to be done.
At Franklin, what’s in your glass has been given as much thought as what’s on the plate, and we’re proud to have won Best Wine List at the 2019 Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Awards. Every single bottle has been chosen for its integrity and sustainable farming practices, as much as its deliciousness. Our wine selection spans French, Italian, Austrian, Spanish, Georgian, and of course Australian wines, and you’ll find plenty available by the glass as well as by the bottle. We’re particularly lucky to pour a selection of star pinot noir, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and pinot gris made exclusively for Franklin by our own organically farmed label launched in 2018, Green Island Wines, a lush one-hectare patch located 45 minutes down the D’Entrecasteaux Channel from Hobart, overlooking Bruny Island.
Our bar is stocked with a wide range of spirits and aperitifs, too, such as Australian vermouth, artisanal sake, local beer and whisky, plus there’s always a revolving choice of cocktails made with boutique spirits, housemade ferments and tinctures to be dived into.
We’re here from 5pm for a post work or pre-dinner drink, or later on, swing by for a nightcap.
